The Raspberry Pi Zero W has the same specs as Pi Zero v1.3 with a major difference….that it has WiFi and Bluetooth built onto the board. For a small price you get an awesome feature packed board that runs your favorite Linux distribution. For around 20$ you get a brilliant little, cheap mini-computer, which can be the core of a wide range of electronics projects. With wireless connection (WiFi and Bluetooth) and a good antenna in Raspberry Pi Zero W, you have all the possibilities for an exciting application, such as within IoT (Internet of Things). The Raspberry Pi Zero comes in a really small form factor i.e. 65mm x 30.5mm x 5mm, this allows use of the Raspberry Pi for projects that have really small storage spaces and wouldn’t necessary allow for the use of full blown Raspberry Pi 3B or Raspberry Pi 3B+. The Raspberry Pi launched the Raspberry Pi Zero in early 2017 and it extends the Pi Zero family through the addition of on-board wireless LAN and Bluetooth connectivity.

The Raspberry Pi Zero W extends the Pi Zero family. Launched at the end of February 2017, the Pi Zero W has all the functionality of the original Pi Zero, but comes with with added connectivity, consisting of:

The Raspberry Pi Zero W is a smart little computer but connecting it up to a display is slightly more challenging. If you are looking to connect up your Raspberry Pi Zero up to your HDMI Monitor you will need a Mini Male HDMI to a Standard HDMI extension adapter. Grab one of these and make sure you are able to work on your Raspberry Pi Zero W wherever you might be.

The Pi Zero W is designed with two different microUSB ports. The first one is for powering up the Raspberry Pi Zero W while the other one is a USB OTG port designed to save space but allow normal USB devices to be connected a USB OTG (On The Go) adapter. Using the USB OTG adaptor you can connect a mouse, keyboard, or other standard USB device to a USB OTG port. Plug this into the Raspberry Pi Zero W and use all your standard USB peripherals with it.
