How do we program the BBC micro:bit and the Micro Maqueen : The Micro:Maqueen can be programmed using either the Block Editor, using Javascript editor or using the Python editor. Let’s look at each of the programming platforms very briefly –

  1. The Block Editor is a visual editor and provides an introduction to structured programming via drag and drop coding blocks that snap together.   2. With its touch-based interface, Touch Develop has been designed for mobile devices with touchscreens. It can also be used with a pc, keyboard and mouse. Touch Develop introduces a statically-typed scripting language with syntax-directed editor. It can be used to produce web-based apps that can run online on any platform. DFR robot provides their own Mindplus editor which can be used to develop code for the micro:maqueen. This is in addition to being able to program the Micro:Maqueen using the standard Makecode editor for the BBC micro:bit.
