BMW ( https://www.bmw.com.au) Australia is running a campaign for school kids all across the country. The challenge is aimed at getting kids across the country thinking about the future of travel and what their vision is for the future of travel here in Australia. Over the last few year Elon Musk and his company Tesla have put in a lot of effort to popularize the electric car helping it go mainstream. Tesla ( https://www.tesla.com/ ) and Elon Musk ( a complete outsider to the car industry ) proved what electric cars are capable of and busted a lot of popular myths around electric cars.
Here’s what the BMW challenge page has to say, “How will you travel around Melbourne in 2040? Does it look different to mobility of today? Identify the issue. What is the transport problem you see, in one of the following areas:
- City design (current or new suburbs)
- Transport infrastructure (any type, not just cars!)
- Sustainable mobility (supporting the environment)
- Transport technology (improvements to current transport, or a completely new mode of transportation)
Make the change. How would you fix a problem? You must submit your idea in one of the following three ways:
- A written submission of 800-2,000 words, with or without illustrations
- Sketches or illustrations, between 3-8 sketches
- A video or other multimedia submission between 1-3 minutes
Submissions close on Monday 30 September, 2019.
